The Guk Sueb Academy
It is a personal
project of my dedication in the field, my expansion of career in foreign
language and culture teaching as well as center of Indonesian culture. This initiative
has been started since 2000 from a small room at my home in Sidoarjo and goes
on up to now at classes at campuses as well as gazebo around Malang. This
academy is inspired with the idea of The Academia by Plato to establish the
knowledge and how to give positive contribution towards our society.
Malang Interfaith Community (MICo)
An affirmative action is needed in order to
preserve the peaceful and harmony in such diverse society like in Indonesia;
religion diversity holds significant influences in maintaining harmony.
Regarding this urgency, The Malang Interfaith Community (MICO) is established
in Malang, intended to be the media or forum for some parties (religion based
organizations) in order to promote the importance of postmodern life and
mindset within the diverse society, especially in vast developing area like in
Malang. This project focuses on the scholars and/or campuses in Malang and
using socio-academic approach in conducting the dialogue within those parties. Read more...
Stand-up Comedy Indonesia Malang
The emergence of popular culture through comedy is
now widely spreading in Indonesia. As the youth becomes the agent of change and
they need more space to express their voice to be heard, comedy is becoming the
alternative for them to criticize the social life and culture change through
laughter. Malang, as one of the most progressive cities in Indonesia and the
most advanced city in higher education where thousands young scholars are
studying and engaging with various community service, needs more space to be

Defining life through a cup of coffee
The idea of the endless classroom outside the wall leads us into the idea to have another forum to talk about this life beyond the classroom. This project was actually started in 2011 when we the members of Stand-up comedy Indonesia Malang found similar idea and perspectives in defining life. We spent the night at one coffee shop to others, just to enjoy the life with a nice way. As we move to other cities, we are committed to keep holding this nice forum with our friends where we stand.
